Our mission is to spread the importance of consuming mushrooms which benefits your mind and body - whether you aim to cook and enjoy them or use them as a supplement. We also aim to help spread awareness about the benefits of growing them on your land, and the impact they have on the earth.

Hi! We are Tyler and Alyssa Bowman, the owners and operators of Pacific Northwest Mushrooms founded in March of 2023.
Prior to receiving his Mycology degree from The Evergreen State College, Tyler was previously a successful Glass Artist, @bowmanglass on Instagram. Alyssa graduated with a B.A. in Marketing and Communications from Eastern Washington University, and was a digital marketer at an ad firm.
The year was 2019. We got married, bought a house on a little less than an acre, had a newborn son, and tore out the grass in our backyard in order to build our family garden. Thank goodness we made those huge life decisions all in one year because the next year was the year of Covid-19 2020. That's when the specialty glass market collapsed, we all of a sudden had a covid-baby and we had to think of what moves to make next to support our growing family. Because we both have a love for growing healthy food for our family and friends, we thought what could we do together - like gardening - that we both love and would help us be together as a family, AND still earn an income? That's when we said shoot let's combine the skills we learned in college and make something of it ourselves. That was it. With a dream, the passion, the need, and the drive, we made it happen - with some help of course, with thanks to our family and friends.
Fast forward --- and now we have a climate controlled facility right in our backyard next to our family's garden in the burbs! Our goal is to share the information we are learning/have learned in order to spread knowledge about the things we love about mushrooms and local food with our community, the community we grew up in and where are kid's are growing up.
Our Passion & Mission
At Pacific Northwest Mushrooms, we are passionate about healthy food, especially mushrooms, but we support all local farmers, farms, chefs, and restaurants that align with our goal. We believe that food is more than just sustenance - it is a way to connect with our family and community, a way to learn about growing plants and mushrooms, and why we should, a way to get back to our roots - better health mentally, physically, and spiritually. We ourselves are working on it too. Knowing that our food system is flawed, we feel that our mission is shared by most.
Our Products
All of our products are made with care and love using mostly organic compostable materials that go right back into our garden. It's a full circle cycle for us. Check out our family garden on Instagram @bowmans_urban_homestead to see more of what we do as a family on our homestead.
